Caving in the Hérault and Lozére
Saturday we left home for one week caving (Marianne, Marty, Wesley, Marty Jun. and me). First we went to the Montagne Noire in the Hérault. We had an appointment with a friend. Our shelter was the clubhouse of speleoclub Beziers. At 18.00 we arrived at the meeting point. Our friend was already waiting. We drove into the surrounding mountains to the clubhouse. The house is very lovely. It lies in a village with only a few houses. After dinner we made plans for the comming days. Our friend had to go back to his town because it was ellection in France.
The next day we visited a cave nearby the house about 20 minutes walk down a valley. We stayed 6 hours in the cave but could not find our way. A little bit disappointed we crawled out. The next days we visited another cave in the valley and a cave in the surrounding hills. They were very nice. On wednesday we left tot the Lozére.
When we arrived it was very cold (went from 23 C to 0 C). The next days the weather even got worse (with snow). The last few days we made several trips in one big cavesystem. On saturday we drove back home. It was a nice week.
