Speleocamp in the Ardéche

In the beginning of may our club ( Speleo Limburg) planed a speleocamp near the Gorge Ardéche. We stayed in a gite near the gorge. Before the other speleo's arrived we (Harold, Viola and I) made a walk in the gorge the first day.

In the evening Jolanda and Peter, Matthew with his wife and children and Janneke with her friend and there baby arrived. Our planes were to visit a few caves in the Ardéche and Gard and Peter and Jolanda wanted to dive some caves. The next day everybody made planes for the day. Harold, Viola, Janneke and I dicided to visit a cave closeby. After a phone call to our local friend we got the lockcode for entering the cave. The cave has a fossil part and an active part. We first entered the fossil part and took some pictures and than visited the active part.

The next day I visited a cave on the other side of the gorge together with Harold and Viola. Peter en Jolanda made a dive in a cave close to the gorge. The cave starts with a 40 meter pitch. Than you have to traverse to an upper galerie. The galerie is only a few hundred meters long but is worth the trip. You can also visite another part of the cave decending a 90 meter pitch. After 5-6 hours we got out of the cave.

Aven Noël

The last day I made a visit to a closed cave in the Gard together with Janneke and Harold. After looking for the entrance more than 1 hour, we called for the lockcode of the cave. After decending a pitch there was a nice galerie to see.
