Speleocamp Hérault and Pyrenee Orientales
From 14 april - 21 april our speleoclubs Schravelaar and Limburg spent a week in the Hérault with a detour to the Pyrenee Orientales. We visited 4 nice caves. Until the last moment the program was uncertain. In the weekend we visited the Grotte Lauzinas wich is special because of its "champignon formation". The trip lasted 6 hours. I made some nice pictures during the trip. It started with 9 ladders down til -140 meters. Some of the ladders are more than 25 meters. The cave has big galeries with some blue marble. The next day we made a trip to a cave in the northern region of the Hérault. At first we thought the trip would last 4 hours as last time but I could not find the way in the cave. So we were 7 hours inside. We were to late for dinner (and the plan was that I and Marion would cook). So the group was not happy. But thats speleo!!
On the way we saw some bats and a nice gour with cristal islands. It looked special. In the cave it was difficult to find your way trough blocs and passages. We visited only one part of the cave. At 21.00 hours we were back at the gite for dinner. The next day was a restday. The next trip was to the Pyrenee Orientales. My speleofriend Caroline was so kind to arrange a special tour for us at the last moment. It was a day not to forget. Our group was impressed from all the rare things we saw. Caroline thanks again for the special trip!!
The last cavestrip was to a cave near Saint Pons. We had an appointment at 10.00 o clock. Together with Marion, Marty and Marianne and our guide Jean-Pierre we left for the cave. The cave is special for its spagettiformations with eccentrics. For me it was the second visit to this cave. It has one spagetti which is longer than 4,75 meters. The trip lasted 5 hours and I made some nice pictures.
